The Meaning of the Quest

“All of us do not have equal talent, but all of us should have an equal opportunity to develop our talents.” – John F. Kennedy

How many girls have played golf and dreamed of hitting par 5’s in two? Of hitting wedge into most par 4’s? Playing with the long hitters and struggling to keep up with them off the tee can just get downright frustrating! Not only is the need for length off the tee crucial for PGA Tour players, but is becoming even more of a necessity with women on the LPGA Tour!

Back in 1998, if a LPGA player drove the ball 250 yards, she was in the top 17 players in Driving Distance. Today a 250 average Driving Distance won’t even make the top 40! In this day and age, “short and steady” rarely wins the race, anymore.

Many women playing at the College and Professional level today struggle with the course yardages getting longer, and the competition getting stronger. This is why we created The Golf Belles Golf Quests. As a part of the Golf Sisterhood the Golf Belles are dedicated to the Heart, Soul and Face of Women’s Golf. We have the passion for the game, but due to the lack of resources available in women’s golf, we struggle to gain the necessary tools to make the improvements in our games that matter the most!

This Golf Belles Golf Quest, the “Quest for Distance” we have an objective of gaining 30 yards off of the tee this year in order to get our games in better competitive shape on the personal, competitive amateur and also with the Pro Golf Belles at a professional Level. By using this blog to share participants progress in their personal quests for distance, we hope to gain the resources and guidance necessary for every participant and observer to attain their competitive aspirations. I also hope to aide and inspire our sister, Pro Golf Belles and all of the women in the global golf sisterhood to achieve success in whatever parts of their golf games and in their lives that are keeping them from reaching their full potential.

As Golf Belles on a Quest we are dedicated to the mission of inspiring women that there is limitless potential to distance gains on the golf course and in life!

  1. Sara, I love your drive (no pun intended) and motivation. Our goal over here at Golf4Her is to partner with inspiring women like yourself with hopes of introducing more young girls to the sport of golf. Good luck with your Quest!
